7 Things to Love in Thailand

Magical Thailand Experience in 5 Days

Amazing attractions, good food, and awesome people are probably every traveler’s top 3 criteria on choosing a travel destination and finding all those things in one country is surely a dream come true! For a blogger like me, it is imperative to find instagrammable areas to take photos in. Last July, I was given the opportunity to explore Thailand for 5 days and it was a whirlwind experience. In any case, here are my seven favorite things about Thailand:

The price is right

Almost everything is cheaper in Thailand: food, souvenirs, and even clothing! When things that are considered quite luxurious back in your country are within your budget, it is easy to spend a lot and not even realize.

Food is not an issue

I’d be honest; I am not an adventurous eater. I was really worried about finding food or going hungry. To my surprise, all sorts of food can be found at all hours. You can find literally any kind of cuisine whether it be Italian, Mexican, Indian or whatever it is that you crave. There are night markets that offer wide-variety of food and snacks. There are also various restaurant options, from cheap ones to more upscale ones. Not to mention that there are 24/7 convenience stores on almost every alley and many delivery options. Cheap and good food is available at all times which make it nearly impossible not to gain weight.

Lit nightlife, if you’re into that

There are numerous tourist spots like Soi Cowboy and Khao San Road which are insane! They are a must-see, especially for tourists like us who are far beyond from being party animals, because chances are you have never experienced anything quite like that. There are many clubs and lounges to choose from, especially in Sukhumvit Road and Ekamai.

Spa is everywhere

Not everyone enjoys being touched nor massaged but to me, having the mere option of getting a massage or a foot spa on almost every alley is awesome. Bangkok is filled with spa and massage places. The cost ranges from Php 150-1000 for an hour which is definitely a steal.

Thai people

Thai people are exceptionally kind and friendly. No wonder Thailand is known as the “Land of Smiles”. Even if they don’t understand how we speak, they still smile.

Its serenity

Thailand is known for its various temples that thousands of tourists visit each day. The ones in Ayutthaya like Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Wat Mahathat and many other old ruins are very peaceful. If you are someone who wants to break free from stress, you may want to consider visiting Thailand. Imagine yourself, taking on a walk whilst appreciating good sights and breathing in some fresh air. What can be more peaceful, right?

The country is versatile

You don’t have to be a temple-lover to visit Thailand. If you love historical places, you can check out Ayutthaya. If you love nature and beaches, you will adore Pattaya. If you are a party animal, there are numerous places for you. If you love food, Thailand is totally the place to be! You can do so much stuff in Thailand that there will surely be no dead air.

Summer Essentials other than Swimwear & Sun Block

Audley Headphones, Lewis Luxury Charging Dock, Jaguar Monster Power Bank

Summer has officially begun and other than my swimwear and sun block, here are 3 things that I always bring with me whenever I go out for a summer vacay:

Audley StyleJam Series Headphones

I am living for these stylish over-the-ear headphones with built-in microphone. Audley StyleJam Headphones are large but lightweight; unbelievably comfortable with theater-like quality audio which is just perfect for movies (hear it to believe it!) and all music genres; combined with soft leather cushions meant to envelope your ears in comfort. The StyleJam series comes in 3 colors: Burst Black, Rose Pink, and my pick, the San Francisco Blue!

Lewis Luxury Apple Charging Dock

The Lewis Luxury Apple Charging Dock is a refined, brushed aluminum stand designed to complement your Apple device. I just love how I can dock my iPhone to charge hands-free during speakerphone calls and FaceTime chats, or even when I’m playing my favorite tunes. I can also transfer data to my PC and based on my own observation, it fills up my iPhone’s battery faster than a regular charger.

Jaguar Monster 10,050 MAH Power Bank

This is currently my favorite PB. It’s stylish white casing definitely fits my modern lifestyle. This little baby is compatible with all phones, tablets, music players, feature phones and brands (local and international!) It has built-in flashlight function (dual purpose!) with adjustable brightness settings. It also has overcharging, overcurrent, overtemperature, and short circuit protection so it’s perfect for forgetful dudes like me (LOL!)

Just imagine yourself spending a vacation at your favorite beach while enjoying good music and without worrying about your phone’s battery. Get yours now and make your summer extra fun!

Unleash your inner child at Ball Pit Manila

Read more on my Instagram @reddefines

The most potent muse of all is our own inner child.

These are the few words that Stephen Nasmanovitch once said which I personally do believe in. Growing up, I’ve always been the kid who never gets tired of playing. As a matter of fact, the thing that I hated the most during my childhood was bedtime.

I’ve known BPM for quite some time now. I mean, any nethead would definitely see random posts about BPM trending on social media because let’s face it, incorporating a pool of white balls inside a cafe was a genius move considering how people nowadays are getting more and more artsy over time. I, for one, have  always wanted to go to BPM but I never had the chance to until last August 14, on the day of Charlie Puth’s concert in Manila. The concert was at 8pm of that day so I thought it was the perfect timing for me to finally experience BPM.

Like what I’ve said on my previous blog, that day started off really bad because heavy rains were everywhere. Whilst on the road, I searched up BPM’s contact number on their website and called them to confirm if no roads are closed and that they would open on that day. Luckily, lady luck shone on me as the rest of the day literally turned from grey and cloudy to sunny and fun!

So, our schedule at BPM was at 12-1pm. For rates and schedule, click here. I was using waze because I didn’t know exactly where BPM is located. So, I want to be completely honest here and say that I was really surprised when waze asked me to stop at an area that’s way different than what I was expecting. The building was kind of old and there were not a lot of people roaming around that place.

So, we entered this old building and the guard told us to head to the 2nd floor where BPM is. When we reached the 2nd floor, we saw a white door with a label that reads “Ball Pit Manila” and upon opening that door, the mood literally turned from boring to fun! I immediately wanted to hop in the pool of balls and play but it was full of people that time so I waited for quite a bit until there were only 2 people left inside. To be completely honest, the pool was way smaller than what I had in mind but man, the fun I had was beyond imagination. As I hopped in the pool, I instantly felt like the kid I used to be. It was hella fun! So first, I had to grab a quick photo-op of course. After that, I played until our time was finished. Btw, the payment was inclusive of complimentary drinks so after playing, we got to sit and cool up for a while before leaving.

Overall, the experience was indescribable! Was it worth it? Super! Was it fun? Beyond imagination! One tip though, be sure to have someone with you when you visit this place. Although they have approachable staff that you may ask to take photos of you, it’s still always better to have someone to share the fun with.
